A Lenten journey of daily gospel readings and reflections and prayer

Throughout the 40 days of Lent, a group of us are following Jesus through the gospel of Luke from John’s ministry through to his crucifixion. As 21st century followers of Jesus, not only will you get a closer look at the experiences of Jesus and his disciples you will also be taken deeper into your own faith journey.

There are two gospel readings each day (except Sundays) which can be incorporated into Morning and Evening Prayer if you choose. Or a time of silence before and after the reading and reflection might suit you better, it is entirely your choice. There is also a daily noon day prayers question to reflect upon.

In our community here at Stonebridge Haven, we try to start each day with Lauds and then move through Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Compline. Doing these prayers, as did the disciples and early church goers, may help structure your consciousness of being a disciple throughout Lent.

We look forward to sharing this Lenten journey with you. You might find it more meaningful if you invite a prayer buddy to join you, but however you do it, the One in whom we live and move and have our being will be holding us all as “we”, so-to-speak, walk with Jesus and his disciples this Lent. May we all be blessed.
