Lauds: on awakening

(call and response or say everything)

Breath of God (ruach): Start with 5 worshipful and slow breaths, breathing in and out on the word Abba or God or Yahweh or Father or Jesus, whichever resonates the best within you.

Short responsorial:  Early in the morning I will think of you, Oh Lord

Early in the morning I will think of you, Oh Lord

You have been my help

Early in the morning I will think of you, Oh Lord

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit

Early in the morning I will think of you, Oh Lord

Responsorial:

The light has shone forth in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome or understand it.

Shine forth on us

The light has walked on this earth among us

Shine forth with us

The light fills us even now

Shine forth from within us

May all we do and say today be as your disciples walking in the light

May all we do and say today be as your disciples filled with your light

May all we do and say today bring light to others

Now take a moment to look towards the light, at the window or even looking at something meaningful or go outside, and be bathed in the light and be blessed. Breathe deeply, each breath slower and longer than the last for 5 worshipful breaths, filling yourself with the light of the Spirit, and releasing tensions, regrets and worries. Sit and rest for a few moments or more in the light.

Prayers:

Blessed be our Abba who hears the prayers of his children

Lord, hear us.

We thank you, Abba, for sending us your Son:

Help us walk in His footsteps, help us be like him through out this day.

Lord, hear us.

Make wisdom our guide, help us walk in newness of life.

Lord, hear us.

Lord, give us your strength in our weakness: when we meet problems give us courage to face them.

Lord, hear us.

Direct our thoughts, our words, our actions today, so that we may know, and do, your will.

Lord, hear us.

Sing: God be in my head

God be in my head, and in my understanding;   God be in mine eyes, and in my looking;
God be in my mouth, and in my speaking;         God be in my heart, and in my thinking;
                                    God be at mine end, and at my departing.
